Before retiring in January, 2013, I joined another agency that does long term care of handicapped children and was back to taking care of one boy with cerebral palsy in his home. Only one or two days a week . I enjoyed partial retirement though and spent my days with my 2 year old old toy poodle, now 12 yrs. old. And in 2017 I rescued another dog, Casey, a 6 y.o. bigger Yorkshire Terrier. But gave it Casey to another after about a year.
For my 47 yrs of nursing I did a variety or nursing--adults, geriatrics, pediatrics, psychiatric floor, hospice, home care,ER, ICU . Was supervisor in home care, otherwise floor nurse, charge, head nurse. Worked at University of Chicago Hospitals, other Chicago area hospitals, Cleveland Cliinic and other Cleveland area hospitals and a stent near Buffalo, N.Y.

I'm now glad to be retired and more stress free. Life is good. Teddy and I visit multiple nursing homes and the people just love him. He prances room to room. Also I am in a cardio exercise group, and my main volunteer activity, being a volunteer usher at Cleveland Playhouse. I get to see all the plays and other performances that way. 2021, the cardio exercise is gone. Also, as of Dec 3, when I usher my last, The Nutcracker, I plan to retire from the Playhouse. With the big 80 looming next spring, I’m getting tired and ready to kick my feet up.

2022— this year I made a move to Clearwater Florida. I haven’t quite gotten used to the heat here. I sweat a lot! I live very near my nephew and brother in law which is nice. We have a pool which I take advantage of in this 90 degree weather. It took a lot to get my brother and I both moved down here but am becoming more settled now. My brother moved into an assisted living facility 1 mile from me. After a few months I was able to fly back and bring my dog, Teddy, down. Had to make him an emotional support dog in order for him to be in this 55 and older community. But sure is good to have him.

Graduated with B.S. in Nursing in 1965 from University of Cincinnati College of Nursing and Health.
Have fond memories of HEHS and were some of the best years of my life. Would love to see old friends and catch up and hope they come to the reunions.
